Preschool 1 Week
Preschool 1
Dear PS1 Families,
It was a fun and busy week in PS1! The children were so excited to spend time exploring all about Halloween. During Morning Meeting and Circle Time, the children had a chance to discuss their Halloween costumes and share what their favorite Halloween treats are. We read many Halloween books, including Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman, Ten Timid Ghosts by Jennifer O’Connell and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. After reading, we made our own Witch’s Brew. Ask your child which ingredients they added to our brew! We also had a candy corn taste test and conducted a candy corn science experiment. We made predictions about what would happen if we put candy corn in water and then tested it out. Ask your child what happened!
The children were busy washing pumpkins at the sensory table. After we got them all cleaned up, we had a blast decorating them with drip paint! The children practiced their fine motor skills in the sand table picking up and sorting all sorts of Halloween items! The Halloween snack was a huge hit. Thank you to all the families who donated for our recent classroom sign up for Halloween supplies.
At the project table we marble painted some beautiful spider webs and created some amazing pictures using Halloween stickers. Be Ahead of the Game also visited this week and kept us busy practicing our soccer skills! Next week we will move on to exploring letters and the sounds that they make!
As always, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to email us at anytime – preschool1@wnsh.org
Have a great weekend,
